Product Description

During his frequent guest appearances on The Carol Burnett Show, Tim Conway, who had originally gotten his start on McHale s Navy, was a one-man wrecking crew capable of leveling the audience and cast members alike with the slightest gesture. With his unparalleled gift for improvisation and physical comedy, Conway became a permanent part of the cast in 1975 and would go on to create a gallery of oddball characters that blossomed in their own bumbling ineptitude, from the Oldest Man to the irascible boss, Mr. Tudball.

THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW: THE BEST OF TIM CONWAY celebrates this matchless, legendary comic with four complete episodes three not seen in more than 40 years featuring some of his most unforgettable characters and moments.

-Conway's Oldest Man gives himself a slo-mo oil change playing the default head of a racetrack pit crew.
-In The Virgin Prince, he's a swishbuckling tour de farce with an appetite for flies and destruction.
-Conway plays The Lone Ranger and acts like man's best friend in Dog s Life (blooper included!).
-The legendary Conway/Korman sketch, The Dentist one of the all-time-great moments of physical comedy.
-Conway stars as Mr. Tudball, well-known for his strange accent and regimented work style, who takes leave of his senses while showing compassion for his dimwitted secretary, Mrs. Wiggins (Carol Burnett).

4The DENTIST sketch is one of the highlights of this 153 minute collection.
    By Michael Grösch-McCluskey
I rated this **** for Tim Conway fans. It is a *** if you're a Carol Burnett fan.
The other reviewer said these were "COMPLETE" episodes; not really. An "hour" variety
show, during the eleven-year run of this show would be between 51 and 55-minutes:
    1.)= #312 (8 DEC '69), also features Martha Raye:
    37 minutes [missing songs].
    2.)= #423 (1 MAR '71), features Pat Carroll & Karen Wyman:
    43 minutes [missing songs].
    3.)= #513 (1 DEC '71),"Mama"Cass Elliot, cameo with M*A*SH's "Father McKayhee":
    31 minutes [all songs deleted].
    4.)= #0120(26FEB'78), Steve Lawrence:
    43 minutes [missing songs].

    4Good but edited
    By The Big RG
As another reviewer has stated these four episodes of "The Carol Burnett Show" have all been edited; they are not the complete "one hour" shows. To give you an example, the musical number from the Martha Raye episode was completely cut out. Yes, it's "the best of Tim Conway" but weeks before its release I had been led to believe these episodes were the full "one hour" shows. One episode was cut down to 37 minutes. If I had known this I wouldn't have bought it. On the bright side, the shows will still make you laugh and smile. How can you not?

3Not really the 'best of' Conway.
    By Mumblix
This is hardly the best of Tim Conway. There were many sketches that were better than the ones that were selected to be on this DVD. Some sketches didn't even feature Tim at all. Rather than seemingly pick 4 Carol Burnett Show episodes at random I wish that they had made some effort to go through all 11 seasons and find the true best sketches that featured Tim and put them on DVD. Other than the dentist and the dog sketch I found this DVD to be a little disappointing.
